Nestled amidst North-Eastern Himalayas near Darjeeling lies Glenburn Estate,  a plantation retreat overlooking the mighty Kanchenjuga mountain ranges where time stands still and nature invites you to unwind in the peace and tranquility of the region. Started by Scottish tea company in 1859, Glenburn is a heritage property that offers premium accommodation in twin bungalows adjacent to each other comprising of common areas, gardens, verandahs and terrace from where you can enjoy unparalleled views of the Himalayas and spend your holiday in solitude. Your hostesses Victoria and Auriole keep you entertained during your stay and are always willing to go an extra mile to cater to your daily needs. The Burra Bungalow which was restored in 2002 is surrounded by thousand acres of private forest and two rivers passing through the estate make it an exotic vacationing experience in wilderness. The Water Lily Bungalow was added to the retreat in 2008 and offers amazing views of Darjeeling and Kanchenjunga range. All eight rooms at Glenburn Estate are adorned with antique furniture, teak wood flooring and old fashioned bathroom fittings retaining the essence of by gone era and colonial splendor. Glenburn serves Indian and continental meals and you get to savor home cooked food as per your preference. Veggies, herbs and other ingredients are sourced from retreat’s own organic garden and guests are invited to participate in cooking classes to learn traditional Indian dishes and North-East cuisine under the expert guidance of experienced cooks.
