While many businesses have passed their ownership from generation to generation, it is rare to find a tour operator that has done it so successfully. Vasco Travel is proud to be known as a family-run travel company in the Indian Tourism Industry. However, hospitality and tourism was born in the family much before independence.
The family had 02 hotels with the name “Abbott Hotel” before partition in Rawalpindi and Murree – the area which is now in Pakistan. However, today it has nothing there. It was just a point of initiation from where the legacy of “travel” moved to India after independence and with the hospitality experience, the foundation of Vasco travel was laid down here. The seed for ‘Inspiring travel experiences’ was sown by Late Mr Ashok Abbott, who retired from Indian Airlines as commercial manager, North India. From him, the legacy transferred to his son and our CEO, Mr Chander Abbott, who has been in the industry since 1975. Following his father’s footsteps, young and dynamic Mr Vikas Abbott, managing director, carried forward the family legacy, when he joined the organisation in 1995 as Director – Sales & Marketing. And today, he proudly says, “Travel is in my blood”.

Today, Vasco Travel offers inspirational journeys in India and Overseas. We pride ourselves in thinking outside the box; beyond the tourist trap, thereby creating a unique holiday experience which is tailor-made. With the variety of choices at any destination, we believe that a holiday experience should not only offer sightseeing of monuments, but should be an amalgamation of visits to important sites and experiences that are unique to each region. This gives our guests the opportunity to understand the living traditions and live, breath, taste and understand the Real Essence of the destination. Our Travel Counsellors are experienced to not only suggest you with unique holiday destinations but also find out the best deals for your flights. The choice to do quantity always exists. However, Vasco Travel decided to stay in the niche space of quality offerings and therefore the focus is on experiential travel for our guests.
